Detroit Skating Club - House Hockey Program.
Welcome to Future Stars Hockey Program!
Our teams are limited to 24 total players and fill extremely fast.
House Program: this is NOT travel hockey.
Team Structure: 24 total players.
Our Season: Spring 2025 will run Mid March to May 31st. Fall / Winter 2025-2026 will run September to the middle or later March. During the Spring season we focus heavily on player development and limit game play. During the hockey season we play in a league and focus on game play & player development. Players that are committed to our program have to skate both in the Spring and Fall / Winter.
Jamboree Expectations Fall 2025 / Winter 2026: Future Stars Hockey intends to participate in the following jamborees. 6U: (2) Fraser Events & the Royal Oak Outdoor Classic. 8U: (2) Fraser Events & the 8U State Tournament.
Game Format: Half-ice 4 X 4 games for a skill-focused experience.
Game Days: Games are "typically" on Sunday mornings (during the regular hockey season). We start games in October typically but sometimes will schedule a few scrimmages prior to the start of the season. Game play concludes in mid March.
6U Team Schedule: Spring & Fall / Winter: Skates 2X per week on Saturday and Sundays.
8U Team Schedule: Spring: Skates 2X per week on Saturday & Sunday. Fall / Winter: Skates 3x per week on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Jerseys:
For the Spring we order practice style jerseys. We have to place the order in advance so we generally will select popular numbers and players will pick up a jersey at random. In the Fall / Winter is when the "fancy" jerseys come in, with the last name and players choice of number. Returning players will have the first priority of number selection.
Secure Your Spot: Future Stars Hockey requires a non-refundable deposit for the fall/winter season, showcasing your commitment. This deposit goes against your total cost, due in mid-August. Payment plans are available to support families.
Additional Events: Optional jamborees and tournaments available, providing extra opportunities for skill development. These events are optional and incur an additional cost. Total cost for these events will be divided by the number of players plus a credit card processing fee. Secure your spot by registering promptly via the provided link when the event is available.
League Participation: Proud members of the i275 league, showcasing competitive and spirited play. Members of the league include some of the following: Livonia, Plymouth, Orchard Lake, Waterford, Birmingham, Farmington Hills and more.
Program Popularity: We sell out in advance, emphasizing the high demand for our unique approach.
Zero Drama Environment: We cultivate a drama-free culture, ensuring a positive experience for players and families.
Cultural Values: Our focus extends beyond the rink, emphasizing mastering hockey fundamentals and building a foundation of love and skill for a lasting hockey career.
Communication Method: Questions are addressed via email for all non-urgent matters. We value focused time at the rink exclusively on the kids.
Stay Informed: It's an expectation that you read your emails and stay informed. We won't translate information for families not following the provided details. Please read and stay updated.
Join us in creating a vibrant, skill-driven, and drama-free hockey community!

Goalie Policy
Due to the amount of games, everyone was not given a chance to play goalie.
Interested in playing goalie for the weekend? Please coordinate amongst the group via Team Snap Chat. It will be up the other player if they want to give up their spot to play goalie that weekend or not. If the player is listed as goalie, that player will have first priority to play. Once confirmed amongst parents, email Team@MotorCityHockey.com so we are aware of the lineup chart.
Does your son really NOT want to play goalie? We highly encourage all players to PLAY goalie and try it! However, if you're the designated goalie, it will be your responsibility to find someone in his place. Please coordinate via Team Snap Chat amongst the 6U Future Stars Families.
